Garden Grove philosophy embraces both the Montessori philosophy and principles of Te Whariki, woven together to create a welcoming, calm, caring and respectful learning environment where all mokopuna (children) are valued, instilling and nurturing, a passion for lifelong learning.
Whanaungatanga is at the heart of all learning, ensuring mokopuna and whanau feel inclusive and comfortable, able to share their ideas, needs, cultures and aspirations.
Our environment is prepared providing challenge and opportunities to explore and collaborate with others developing a wide range of skills.
We recognise and value the whakapapa of all ākonga and support and encourage tamariki to build mana, becoming increasingly capable, confident and independent.
We acknowledge Māori as tanga whenua of Aōtearoa and ensure that all ākonga are given opportunities to appreciate, respect and develop knowledge of the dual heritages of Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Garden Grove Montessori is committed to providing high quality education and care to mokopuna (children) from 2 – 6 years. Through consultation with our centre community we have developed the following principles:
Whanaungatanga – relationships
Ako – learning, concentration
Manaakitanga – respect, care for each other and the environment
Whakamana – empowerment, independence
